  • Google changes domain search

Google seems to have updated the way it handles domain based queries so that instead of being forwarded directly to the URL you are instead taken to the SERPs.

I have noticed this on Google UK results, for example searching for www.amazon.com now takes you to a list of search results. By listing the search results instead it allows other websites to appear in the SERPs and in this case allows ebay to bid on the AdWords keyword www.amazon.com! URL searches are still very popular (not too sure why when you can just type it into the browser) but maybe this change has been made with the intention of allowing AdWords bids on these keywords?

While doing this search I also noticed an AdWords dynamic keyword insertion error.
