    While searching today for Mooloolaba hotels I found 3 examples of poor ppc bid management.

    One example was an out-of-date special offer for May which is no longer valid. The other two were from Marriott hotels and Holiday Inn who both obviously use generic AdGroup’s to bid for accommodation related keywords in areas they don’t have hotels! This means that the ad’s are not optimised for the individual searches which will result in a higher CPC and as the ad’s aren’t relevant a very low conversion rate. The nearest hotel to Mooloolaba I found from these sites was in Brisbane which is where I am already so that wasn’t very useful. This is the Marriot landing page I was sent to which contains no information or even a link back to the homepage :)
