So that they can say, "We're at the top of Google when people search for hotels [or other] for sale." It's an attractive sales proposition for business owners looking to sell their business, so rankings were and continue to be a key focus of the project.
Heres how we did it.
The project is is complex because Christie+Co operates in numerous sectors, requiring a multi-pronged approach encompassing pubs, hotels, restaurants, retail, leisure, childcare and generic 'business for sale' keywords. Rankings KPIs were set for each industry sector - 12 in total. With over 250 Christie+Co employees across these sectors, getting buy-in from key teams was also important to the success of the project.
Key stages of the project.
Site audit - identifying technical problem areas
On-site optimisation - writing meta data and fixing technical issues
Launch of blog - design, build and launch of Christie+Co blog, including writing posts, training internal teams and managing uploads
Development of link building strategy - including local SEO focus for relevant towns and regions, and audit of competitor backlink profiles
Content marketing - writing posts and developing other content on topics relevant to each industry and publishing on industry blogs
We've developed a strong working relationship with Christie+Co since they became a client in 2010, which we're continuing to build on as we target location and sector-based keyword variants by developing imaginative content in the coming months.
